Getting to Alacati (Alaçatı) has couple of answers. Actually it also covers getting to Cesme as well since Alacati is part of Cesme. Answer will depend on how you arrive to İzmir but don’t worry I got them all!

First here is summary version then I’ll explain each alternative in detail.

From İzmir Airport to Alacati
Alternative 1-Take Havaş to go to Çeşme. From Çeşme take minibus for getting to Alacati.
Alternative 2-Use subway to get to Üçkuyular bus terminal (do one change over). From bus terminal take a bus to Alacati.
Alternative 3-Take a taxi from airport and leave some of your vacation money there.
If you are coming to İzmir by bus getting to Alacati:
Alternative 1-choose one of the bus firms that goes directly to Alacati not just İzmir.
Alternative 2-Get of at Çeşme main terminal and took a minibus to Alacati.
So let’s start with assuming you are coming to İzmir via airplane so question is getting to Alacati from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport. Most pratik way would be using Havaş buses (Alternative 1). Assuming you arrive in the season because before May, Havaş services might not be that practical as if you miss one enxt one is likely to be two hours later or something. But if you arrive in season, starting June, periods between buses are much more short. And best thing is without changing or transferring you can go to Çeşme from airport. Trip would take approximately 1,5 hour and around 25 TL (2016 price). Once you arrived in Çeşme you can take minibus for getting to Alacati. It would take around 15 minutes and price is 2-3 TL.
If Havas times were not suitable when you arrived or if you are looking for cheapest way for getting to Alacati, then you should take the metro (subway) (Alternative 2). Then this means once you arrive at the airport, you should take metro in Aliağa direction and get off at “Halkapınar”. You get into another line at this stop, which is Fahrettin Altay line and you get off at the last stop. When you exit on “Terminal yönü” direction, you will walk a little bit towards to gas stop and behind that you will see a bus terminal. This is Üç kuyu bus terminal and you can take a bus for getting to Alacati here. Trip will take around 45 minutes and price is 10 TL (2016).
So if you have chosed subway you need to transfer once and get to a bus terminal to take a bus. But it is actually very easy to take this route despite writing/reading makes it look like troublesome! You can buy metro tickets at subway entry at the airport and there is İzmir card for like 5 usage so that maybe handy as well.
If these options sound complex and you want to start your holiday in relax mode and money to spare, you can take a taxi from airport to Alacati. Taxi drivers will initially say something like 170-200 TL but with a bit of haggle you can get to Alacati for 150 TL. And lots of hotels in Alacati has pick up from airport service and likely to be around this price. Maybe a bit cheaper if you buy also return. However Havas or subway will cost you under 30 TL, and especially Havas is very practical so make your choice accordingly!
If you have private car, or rent a car, from airport to Alacati will be around 90 km.
So if you plan to come to İzmir via bus and want to go to Alacati, first thing you should know is there are bus firms that goes as far as Alacati so you may want to chose them. But even if you didn’t pick them, most of bus firms will stop at Çeşme main terminal and from there you can take minibuses for getting to Alacati.
